If you like to read books that are fun and educational, this one is a great choice.
This is a story about Rufus Mayflower and how he became a millionaire, with a lot of help from his friends.
He doesn't set out to get rich; he just wants to save money on toothpaste. How his economizing turns into something bigger than anyone imagined, and what happens as a result, makes for an enjoyable read—as well as a good exercise in basic math and economics.
Originally published in 1972, the content is very safe to read aloud, and the flow of the writing will have your kids asking for, "Just one more chapter, please!"
How about you? If you have read a book recently that you think others will enjoy, feel free to share you comments below.
