Testing Reminder




All home educated children must be assessed at the end of each school year, according to WV law, either via testing, or a portfolio evaluation by a certified teacher. Assessment results must be submitted to the Board of Education's superintendent in the county of residence by June 30th of each calendar year.

If you are planning to test with the THESIS test center, please be sure to register by Friday, February 6th, and notify Liz DeRoos, the Marion County coordinator, that you have done so.

Click here to register through CHEWV for testing, where you will find links to register for test center testing or private testing, with both online and mail-in options available.

Test dates for our test center are March 23-25. 2015.

New Field Trip Schedule

THESIS field trips to Carnegie Science Center and Children's Museum Pittsburgh have been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 11.  

Group rates still apply:  
  • $5 for Carnegie, 10 am - 4:30 pm
  • $6 for Children's Museum, 12:30-4:30 pm

You can make or adjust your reservation by Friday February 6 at THESIS counter or by contacting Karyn Burns 304-677-9843.

Field Trip CANCELED

Due to inclement weather, the field trip to Carnegie Science Center and the Children's Museum, will **NOT** take place tomorrow. 

This field trip will tentatively be rescheduled for a date in early February.

PLEASE NOTE:

If you signed up for this field trip, Karyn Burns will not cash any checks at this time. She will hold your payments until the new date is determined.

If you do NOT want to participate in the field trip on the alternate date, please let Karyn Burns know, and she will return your payment to you.

Also, due to the reschedule, if you would like to go on this field trip, you are welcome to sign up for the alternate date. Again, just let Karyn know.

THESIS 2015

Dear THESIS Members,

Happy New Year!  THESIS will resume classes this coming Friday, January 9.  
 
 Field trips will be announced as they materialize, but all our group events are in place.

We are in great need of a First Grade Gym teacher for this semester!!  If you can take this on with these sweet young'uns please let me know ASAP!

Our Inclement Weather Policy:  We follow Marion County Schools for public school cancellation:  If they cancel due to weather conditions on a THESIS Friday, we do not meet.  It is up to you to stay informed on this.

Friday, January 30, brings a return of our evening gala "THESIS Art & Literature Show"!  Beginning this Friday we will take placements of your students' finest original art and literature.  Watch for the sign-up on the cafe counter!  More details coming next week.
